The PSD Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team Power Systems Division engineering team. This team is ultimately responsible for providing mechanical and electrical support through the design and application of power system projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Supervisory responsibilities of the PSD engineering team.
  • Develop and follow PSD processes that focus on efficiency, consistency, quality, and velocity.
  • Develop and operate within processes that comply with ISO 9001: 2015.
  • Continuous and pro-active development of all employees and processes.
  • Provide engineered designs and technical support for all PSD projects and operations.
  • Provide technical oversight for all PSD projects.
  • Ensure all designs fall within the project specifications and all applicable regulations.
  • Work closely with other departments to build and maintain strong relationships. This will create trust, and therefore velocity in our work.
  • Effectively manage and delegate workload between members of the PSD engineering team.
  • Assist with the development of the department budget, and operate wisely within the budget.
  • Find key vendors and maintain strong working relationships with them. This includes researching potential vendors, evaluating them, and holding them accountable for their deliverables.
  • Responsible for internal customer satisfaction through the timely delivery of quality designs and support.
  • Provide feedback and expertise during the quoting process of new or challenging projects.
  • Participate in 'lessons learned' exercises after key projects and collect information, prioritize it, and create process changes based on feedback.
  • Ensure processes are consistently followed throughout the PSD engineering team.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of multiple members of the PSD engineering team. They will be expected to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 6+ years of professional experience.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience with a proven ability to provide consistent, accurate and timely technical results. Proven leadership within Engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to interpret and create technical documents.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
