Responsibilities

    Directs and oversees the communications department activities and resources.
  • Provides day-to-day supervision and management of the communications staff.
  • Will ensure that all requirements, regulations, and documentation involving the communication department is completed.
  • Develops departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains 24 hour staffing patterns and equipment repairs while managing all staff operations.
  • Manages all service requests and overall responsibility of all telecommunications equipment.
  • Responsible for annual budget and closely monitors all program financial operations.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, conflict management and other job related issues.
  • Oversees scheduling, recruitment and payroll.
  • Develops policies and procedures to provide procedures for Answering Service and Switchboard.
  • Issue and maintain monthly billing and payments for physician answering service.
  • Responsible for reviewing all past due invoices and completing necessary follow up.
  • Actively assist new physician offices to transition to the Answering Service throughout the Chicago facilities.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with physicians and office managers.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors' degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experienced required.
  • Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer Services experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a Switchboard/Answering Service setting.
  • Current Illinois driver's license.
  • Excellent/efficient communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to manage interactions in difficult situations.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately in emergency situations.
  • Travel to all sites within the Chicago area is required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed since this department is operating at all times.
  • Is able to adequately perform the Essential Functions of this job; as well as being capable of meeting its Functional and Environmental Requirements

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $66,560 to $96,408 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
