We're actively seeking a talented Quantitative Analyst to join our Pacific Life Investments Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Quantitative Analyst you'll play a key role in Pacific Life Investment's (PLI) growth and long-term success by supporting Portfolio Management to help scale, optimize, and monitor our general account investment portfolios. In addition, this position will work directly with the Deputy CIO, Credit Analysts, Portfolio Managers, and other divisions. While joining the Pacific Life Investment team you'll support Investment Strategy and Credit Analysis by developing and maintaining optimization models as well as providing reporting and analysis to make better investment decisions.

How you'll help us move forward:

  • Manage the dissemination of relevant investment data analysis and reporting, portfolio analytics, and peer activity for Management committee, board of directors and other internal or external parties
  • Build and maintain models using Python, Bloomberg or other relevant applications to assist our Portfolio Managers and Other Investment Analysts to maximize our portfolio yield
  • Work collaboratively with Portfolio Management and Credit Analysts being a key resource for investment information, formulation and data analytics
  • Collaborate with investment Operations, Investment Accounting, Enterprise Risk Management, Real Estate, Private Equity, IT and product divisions
  • Integrate internal data with Bloomberg data and other sources
  • Perform data validations and maintain proper controls over data integrity and reporting
  • Build upon our current reporting and processes, seeking out innovative ways to source and efficiently apply data for analysis

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience (life insurance industry, asset management, and/or financial services preferred)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or other programming languages with the ability to quickly learn new languages and programs
  • Ability to work independently on assignments of various levels of complexity with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to collaborate with others to effectively solve problems
  • Ability to innovate and leverage technology for efficiencies and enhanced analytics

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience using Snowflake, Power BI, VBA, Bloomberg
  • Advanced computer skills and strong command of Microsoft products

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$110,700.00 - $135,300.00
