Job Title: Social Services Aide FLSA Status: Part Time - non-exempt Schedule: 25 hours/week Supervises: n/a Rate of Pay: $12.34/hr Closing Date: 05/10/2025 Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Services Aide is an advocate. They are responsible for providing front-line and follow-up assistance to individuals presenting a variety of needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Must possess the ability to work as part of a dynamic, high performing team and maintain confidentiality. Must have the ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds and communicate well with the general public. Willingness to accept and implement The Salvation Army's philosophy for social work assistance, while supporting the mission of The Salvation Army. Be flexible and open to new ideas, concepts, and ways of doing things while keeping pace with multiple priorities. Possess the ability to work well independently and in a detailed, professional and courteous manner. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a High School graduate or equivalent. An AA degree or comparable years of work experience preferred. Ability to use basic office machines/equipment. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point) and possess the ability to use social media. Must submit to and pass a background check. Must complete Protecting the Mission - child safety training. Must possess valid government-issued identification and be a minimum of 18 years old. WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to maneuver. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Maintain the ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, reach overhead, and carry office supplies. Maintain the ability to operate a computer, telephone, and similar technologies. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Education
