Overview

How you can make a difference

The Principal Business Analyst for Reimbursement Accounts is responsible for gathering business information and molding it into actionable decisions for the product team. This role interprets information to then be translated into detailed business requirements or leveraged for process improvements. The Principal Business Analyst will report to GM, Reimbursement Accounts. This is a direct-hire, remote position within HealthEquity

What you'll be doing

    Work closely with business stakeholders, engineering and data information services to triage and analyze complex problems, systems behavior and potential software bugs
  • Assess the impact of bugs, perform gap and root cause analysis, as appropriate
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure successful definition and delivery of new or enhanced product features
  • Meet with Product Owners and stakeholders to elicit requirements and document processes
  • Act as a champion and lead by example in driving continuous improvement mindset for process engineering and quality
  • You will be the go-to person for system behavior questions, change impact insights and pattern recognition across recurring issues
  • Assist with development and execution of test plans
  • Support the entire software development lifecycle
  • Document product capabilities and serve as a product subject matter expert
  • Develop product recommendations based on data analysis
  • Keep team members informed of items that impact their day-to-day duties
  • Participate in SCRUM team cadence meetings and clear team blockers

What you will need to be successful

  • Knowledge of creation of software products or a closely related field as normally obtained through the completion of a High School Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, accounting, or economics majors, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years work experience in business requirements analysis with specific experience in data searching. Experience should include flow modeling, Stakeholder knowledge extraction and sharing. Experience in SQL Queries and process flow is preferred. Formal writing experience is highly desired
  • Familiarity with common product and software development tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Knowledge of agile and SAFE is also required
  • Excellent technical skills and proficiency as well as an innate commitment to service excellence in combination with extraordinary people skills
  • Proven ability to advance an operational unit's strategic direction through identification of risk/opportunity and contributing to the corresponding mitigation/solution
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to rapidly assimilate new information and self-direct in the identification of team, system, and project implications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a critical eye for detail
  • An understanding of healthcare financial accounts (HSA, HRA, and FSA) and healthcare insurance, with a focus on payments, payment cards and claims systems is highly desirable
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Experience creating and/or executing user acceptance test plans
  • Ability to identify product implications of process and technology changes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to consult with users and understand, assess, and present their needs
  • Well organized and able to balance multiple simultaneous assignments
  • A strong customer service orientation is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing demands of business is a must

Salary Range

$104500.00 To $167500.00 / year
