About the Role:

The Specialist Statutory Accounting role is primarily responsible for assisting in the delivery of statutory reporting obligations to regulatory bodies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Where applicable, planning and coordination of audit of multiple statutory financial statements.
  • Understand content and requirements for completing and lodging statutory financial statements in various jurisdictions.
  • Prepare timelines that are inclusive of all stakeholder engagement and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Utilize financial statement preparation tools to complete financial statements; including preparation of the financial statements, adjusting journal entries, financial statement note disclosures and document control
  • Liaise with the external audit firm for planning and execution of audit field work.
  • Liaise with the wider Finance organization to gain additional knowledge to support statutory account preparation.
  • Prepare required Board of Director materials, including an overview of the subsidiary, detailed income statement and balance sheet analysis and accompanying statutory financial statements.
  • Present materials to multiple levels of Finance management.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting.
  • LNG industry experience highly preferred. Midstream, Oil & Gas Upstream activities secondary preference.
  • Demonstrated experience working in SAP (or similar large ERP system) general ledger, business warehouse and consolidation system environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with focus on accuracy, validation and problem solving.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to handle various customer and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to communicate and provide financial information to leaders.
  • Proven ability to deliver longer-term projects and to operate in a deadline driven environment.
  • Track record of identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
