Data Analyst III

Step into a leadership role as a Data Analyst III, where you will drive the strategic direction of our analytics and insights capabilities. In this senior position, you are expected to lead complex projects, mentor a team of data analysts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analytical solutions and data product deliverables with business goals. With a deep understanding of the business context in which you operate and advanced analytical techniques, you will be responsible for delivering actionable insights that directly influence business decisions as well as delivering high quality data products satisfying customer expectations. This role is an opportunity to leverage your extensive data analytics experience, influence data product development, and champion innovation, setting new standards for excellence within our organization.

The Day to Day

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive data analyses, insights, and data curation solutions that align with organization goals ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data throughout the analysis and data curation lifecycle. Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, providing guidance and direction to ensure high-quality data analysis, data products and reporting.

  • Play a pivotal role in shaping data strategy, making significant contributions to data product roadmap decisions. Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Drive innovation by exploring new data analytics tools and technologies. Recommend and implement new tools and technologies to improve data analysis, curation, and reporting capabilities,

  • Lead efforts in optimizing development processes and methodologies to enhance team agility and product quality. Implement data quality control measures to ensure accuracy and consistency. Refine and enforce policies for data handling and processing to ensure compliance with established best practices.

Education

B.A./B.S. in Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or related degree or equivalent practical experience.

Experience

5+ years of professional experience, with a track record of contributing to strategic decision-making, and mentoring junior analysts.

Technical Competency

  • In-depth knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices, along with advanced SQL skills for querying, updating, and managing data

  • Ability to create compelling and understandable visualizations tailored for various audiences. Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau (preferred), Looker, Sigma, or similar

  • Knowledgeable of relational data models and statistical principles

  • Experience working with data warehousing concepts, terminology, and architecture

  • Experience with Python or equivalent programming language, manipulating dataframes in Pandas or PySpark is a plus

  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts

  • Experience with Excel/Google Sheets and more advanced formulas like XLOOKUP or Pivots

  • Ability to lead data projects, make strategic recommendations based on data insights, and influence decision-making processes at the highest levels of the organization

  • Ability to work independently with senior stakeholders with minimal managerial guidance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Databricks

  • Familiarity with ETL processes and Google BigQuery, Amazon Athena, and Redshift and relaying data needs to Data Infrastructure teams

  • Experience using project management tools like Jira (preferred), Asana, Trello, or Monday.com

  • Understanding of coding best practices and familiarity with version control best practices in Git

  • Experience in the ad tech or similar industry

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.

The pay range for this position is below:

* 135,000 - 160,000 per year in New York

Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
