THE POSITION

The Selinsgrove Center is seeking Equipment Operator As for the Transportation/Grounds Department. Selinsgrove Center is located in a nice rural location just outside the Borough of Selinsgrove which is only a couple minutes from town, Selinsgrove Area Schools, and Susquehanna University. We care for the Center's grounds while the Center and our staff care residents who have varying levels of intellectual disabilities by providing extensive supports with daily living, social skills, medical care, and vocational training. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible and accountable for operating buses, trucks, mowers, and other vehicles and equipment as needed to support the overall facility goal of maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for individuals and staff. Our team will rely on you to carry out these tasks for the Transportation/Grounds Department under the direct supervision of the Automotive Equipment Manager while role modeling exemplary driving skills and knowledge. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 12:00 AM to 8:00 PM, rotating shifts which require working some weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel: as needed
  • Free parking!
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires that candidates possess a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with air brake endorsement at hire.
  • You must obtain passenger endorsement to your Class B CDL within six months of employment.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
