In the role of a Research Associate II you will be working in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Purpose Under minimal supervision, uses fundamental and advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to perform complex scientific research. The Liang Lab in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Biochemistry at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated research associate to join our research team focused on studying the metabolic and molecular mechanism of human pregnancy and its related complications using cutting-edge biological techniques.
* Perform and develop routine and complex experimental designs for implementation in the lab. * Develop new methodologies for lab procedures. * Oversee ordering laboratory supplies and materials. * Participate in meetings with principle investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, evaluate lab procedures. * Teach and train new members of the lab in relevant techniques and analytical procedures. * Organize and delegate work assignments. * Perform library searches prepare materials for publications and grants. * Maintain inventory of supplies, may negotiate with vendors and track purchase orders. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Required Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management. Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills. Skills and abilities: Experience in multi-omics analysis and/or mass spectrometry is a plus.
Specifications Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis Minimum Required Education: Master's Degree Minimum Required Experience: 2 years Preferred Education: PhD, in biochemistry, biomedical engineering, biophysics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent. Preferred Experience: Biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, biomedical engineering, and/or bioinformatics Field: Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computational Biology, Biochemical Sciences or related Why MCW?
