National Grid is hiring a Lead Infrastructure Engineer position. This is a hybrid role located in Northboro, MA.

Job Purpose

Our vision is to be recognised as a world leading Information Technology and Digital function in the energy sector and a trusted partner across National Grid businesses. This position, within the National Grid US CNI Infrastructure team, has primary responsibility to provide technical support for hardware and applications. The Individual will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, operating systems, software, and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards and security requirements.

Key Accountabilities

* Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through in a timely manner
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate times
* Gather information, define, and resolve issues or outages that occur within the infrastructure, in a timely fashion.
* Maintain security patching on all Windows, RHEL operating systems, and appliances in the infrastructure, within required time frames.
* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and key processes. Reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
* Install, configure, manage, and maintain a variety of software, physical and virtual hardware.
* Maintain and manage all facets of Active Directory domain, including but not limited to Group Policy, DFSR, Active Directory Sites and Replicators as well as MS DNS and DHCP.
* Perform periodic performance reporting of hardware to support capacity planning.
* Responsible for backup and recovery of all devices using Net Vault, participation in Disaster Recovery exercises.
* Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues users encounter.
* Works with vendors as needed to resolve issues with appliances and server hardware and software.
* Participates in 24x7 on call rotation, providing application and hardware support.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers in different time zones.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail, and deliver high-quality results.

Salary

$137k - $161k a year
