Responsibilities
Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Operating acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, outpatient facilities and ambulatory care access points, an insurance offering, a physician network and various related services located all over the U.S. States, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. www.uhs.com Under the direction of the BHC Chief Executive Officer, this position is responsible to develop, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate clinical service programs for both inpatient and outpatient within the BHC facility. Responsibilities include timely, accurate completion of clinical assessments of patients, organizing and monitoring daily program schedules, serving as referral liaison, adhering to federal and state court requirements as well as discharge planning. Supervise all clinical services and related healthcare staff to improve quality of life for behavioral health patients. Understand appropriate aspects of financial, legal, human resources, marketing, technology, and clinical services responsibilities of the behavioral health program. Assist BHC by answering questions posed by patients, families, staff, management, and government officials. Train staff, coordinate work schedules, supervise staff, oversee departmental budget, apply for applicable grant funding, evaluate staff performance, and provide training. Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs, and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by BHC CEO. Participates in Administrator on Call if requested by BHC CEO. Communicate any state or federal regulations changes to the CEO. The Director of Clinical Services responds to emergency codes as requested or assigned. Qualifications Master's Degree required in social work, counseling, psychology, or related mental health field from an accredited college or university Minimum of five (5) years of experience in behavioral health with at least three (3) years of advanced clinical/management experience. Experience in a healthcare organization with high volume acute care admissions strongly preferred. Experience with federal and Texas state court systems required as it relates to behavioral health patients Current LCSW or LPC Texas licensure. Clinical Supervisor credential strongly preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider course to be completed prior to working in a clinical setting and every 90 days. Handle with Care, and Verbal De-Escalation training must be completed during new hire orientation and annually prior to working in a clinical setting. Additional training to be completed with respective timeline Ability to identify and address the special needs of the adolescent, geriatric, and adult psychiatric patient as it relates to an acute care and behavioral healthcare settings. Strong communication skills, verbally and written. Ability to organize, prioritize and maintain professional composure during emotional interactions with patients. Demonstrate excellent leadership and training skills. Ability to fairly and consistently execute policies and processes. Proven ability in the following areas: Supervision of personnel, training of personnel, record management, regulatory compliance, program development, team building skills, development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, development of positive employee relations.
