This is a temporary assignment not to exceed (NTE) 480 hrs. Onsite or Hybrid work option is available. Candidates residing in Virginia may be considered for hybrid.

Carilion Clinic is an expanding healthcare enterprise that is constantly looking live up its motto "to improve the healthcare of the communities around us". Carilion Innovations is a department designed to catalyze that process by engaging its medical staff directly with our team to improve the current standard of medical technology and design future technologies that will improve medical procedures and education. For such innovation to occur daily responsibilities for this position include,

• Document user requirements and potential product specifications
• Work with CCI mentors and Carilion clinician stakeholders to develop prototypes of solutions in line with excellent engineering and safety principles
• CAD modeling: Create 3-D models from 2-D drawings.
• CAD Modeling: Ability to build parts and assemblies for simulations
• 3D printing: Generate and develop 3D models of leading designs.
• Software engineering: working proficiency in html, Java, Python, C++
• Be able to work on site as needed
• Engage in interdepartmental projects using the Sim Center as a prototyping hub for larger projects
• Other duties as assigned

To be successful in this position we are asking that you meet the following criteria.

• At least 2 years of experience in CAD or software development
• Knowledge on hand tools and other rapid prototyping equipment
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent time management and planning skills
• Confident in Microsoft TEAMS
• ECAD/PCB layout skills preferred
• Coding skills preferred
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence algorithms preferred
