Position Hours: 2 nd and 3rd Shift s (Monday - Friday)
13% shift premium included for 3 rd
17% shift premium for 2 nd
Position Wage: Starting at $20 per hour (plus based on experience)
Job Description:
The general operator's role is to have a working knowledge of how to safely operate the blasting/load make-up cell, the aluminum furnaces, and the atmospheric furnaces. Responsibilities will include working in several different production areas when needed and being adaptable to fulfill the needs of fellow team members. Properly inspecting, programing & monitoring furnaces will be the focus for this role. Promptly reporting any concerns to the shift foreman will be crucial.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Blasting/Load make-up
  • Be knowledgeable in & enforce racking & loading procedures, tagging procedure, & lot control procedures
  • Safe & efficient operations of all production equipment
  • Prioritize processing based on schedule
  • Perform inspection using correct methods
  • Document & report any maintenance issues to shift foreman
  • Monitor & program all furnaces to process correct parameters
  • Must complete all phases of Blaster & Load Set Up Operator
  • Walk through the shop once an hour to inspect each furnace for accuracy & ensure their cell is running efficiently
  • Understand the processing of all material within production areas
  • Ensure plant organization and cleanliness
Aluminum Operation
  • Safe and efficient operation of aluminum furnaces
  • Prioritize processing based on production schedule
  • Perform inspection using the correct methods
  • Package parts safely for shipment to prevent damage
  • Report any maintenance issues to shift foreman
  • Perform periodic maintenance such as draining & refilling the quench tank
  • Monitor & program all furnaces to process correct parameters
  • Understand the processing of all material within production areas * Ensure plant organization & cleanliness
Allcase Cell :
  • Set up & monitoring of the below:
    • Temperature controller
    • Over-temperature controller
    • Chart recorders o Furnace thermo-couples
    • Proper gas flows including for natural, endothermic, nitrogen and ammonia gasses:
  • Oil temperature monitoring - cooling / heating / levels
  • Agitation monitoring
  • Proper loading & racking of parts to minimize distortion
  • Understand tempering guidelines based off actual AQ hardness readings
  • Learn start up, loading & shut down procedures for each piece of equipment in cell
  • Startup/shut down procedure of the generator including, but not limited to:
    • Daily monitoring of retort temperature & dewpoint
  • Determine proper inspection location for AQ testing per ASTM E-18 Rockwell, ASTM E-10 Brinell and ASTM A 956 Leeb hardness testing
  • Understand Tagging & Transfer Procedure
  • Safe & efficient operations of all production equipment
  • Prioritize processing based on production schedule
  • Perform inspection using the correct methods
  • Document & report any maintenance issues to shift foreman
  • Ensure plant organization & cleanliness
Qualifications/ Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Forklift certification
  • 2+ years Prior factory work preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficient physical shape- able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly
  • English reading proficiency
