Pursuit Plainville is looking for a Continuous Improvement Technician to support production and our continuous improvement process.

Job Summary:

Responsible for rapid development and deployment of right size equipment necessary to achieve or improve single piece flow line manufacturing.

Major Responsibilities:

  • The individual must be willing and capable of developing, modifying and building machinery that adheres to Pursuit's Universal No's, and ensuring operator and part safety.
  • Responsible for rapidly reproducing right size production ready equipment throughout the shop.
  • Capable of utilizing machinery and materials within the shop to create and modify custom components.
  • Capable of collaborating with all levels within of the organization such as Operators, Engineers, Leads, Quality, EH&S, and Whitcraft's KPO.
  • Provide creative and innovative hands-on solutions to make the process easier for operators.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, dimensions, symbols and geometric tolerances based on customer specifications.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support and participate in various roles throughout the shop such as Kaizen and 1S workshops, including performing flow line operations.
  • Willing to mentor colleagues and less skilled employees.
  • Travel to other Whitcraft sites may be required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be self-motivated with a sense of urgency, resourcefulness and adaptability.
  • Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing experience.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience.
  • Understanding of mechanical components and machine design.
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Communication & problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of High School or equivalent.

Work Environment:

Primarily shop floor environment.

Equipment Used:

Machinery, hand tools, fixturing, gaging and computer

Additional Comments:

  • Kaizen knowledge & experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with requirements for aerospace component manufacturing that includes having knowledge of aerospace fabrications, machining, laser technology, welding, coatings, and heat treatment is also preferred, but not required.
