Monday - Friday

8:00am - 5:00pm

Additional hours as needed to fulfill the needs of the department.

Function: Provides supervision and support to personnel in Trust Support. Assists the trust manager and the managing director with long-range planning for the division. Researches and provides recommendations on how to implement changes in the industry as well as new regulation requirements. Collaborates with Trust accounting vendors to ensure proper execution of all operational/support processes for Trust. Serves as the primary coordinator for all tax related matters for Trust and is the liaison with the Fiduciary tax service provider and SEI's tax processing unit. Also serves as the liaison with the court accounting vendor and ensures all accountings are filed with the appropriate courts and agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assumes responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of the Trust Support team by:

    • Ensuring that staff members adhere to schedules, policies and procedures.

    • Making recommendations regarding improved operating systems, workflow processes, procedures, changes in employment, salary, and performance ratings for employees.

    • Allocating work and assisting in training personnel.

  • Responsible to interface with internal audit, external auditors and provide data and documentation as necessary.

  • Coordinates, drafts, and updates procedures for Trust Support.

  • Coordinates and monitors the electronic filing & workflow processes for all of Trust.

  • Reviews, verifies and approves 1099-R, 1099, 1099 NEC production prior to the tax service provider printing and mailing to our clients..

  • Serves as a voting member on the Fiduciary Committee and is chairman of the Trust Operations Enhancement Committee.

  • Assists the Trust Manager and the Managing Director by recommending new systems and/or procedures to expedite Trust Support activities and enhance productivity.

  • Coordinates & oversees the entire tax process for all the Fiduciary Tax Returns for Trust including tax due & estimated tax payments.

  • Oversees and participates in the training of personnel for trust support and cross-training of existing staff.

  • Oversees the preparation and filing of all necessary reports in the Guardianship system for all guardianship accounts.

  • Monitors and oversees the balancing of the Federal Withholding account. Prepares and files the 945 returns and any other state withholding returns as required.

  • Acts as the liaison for Trust on the Disaster Recovery Committee.

  • Oversees the integration of various products with the Trust Accounting System and serves as a liaison for IT regarding any enhancements and with OneBase workflow.

  • Ensures the smooth transition between core accounting and other operations systems with regard to merger, acquisition, and system replacement.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

  • Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees. Possesses the ability to work independently. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and is motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn, the organization.

Education:

Requires a four-year degree or equivalent. Preferred certifications any of the following CSOP, ChFC, CFP, CPA, CTFA.

Experience:

Requires five to ten years of general experience with two to five years specialized experience. Fiduciary and Tax Knowledge.

Physical Demands:

Operates a keypad device 70-80% throughout the day. Operates electronic/office equipment 50-60% throughout the day. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these task are the fingers, thumb, hand, wrist and elbows, legs, feet, lower torso, and upper torso. Sitting is required 60-70% of the day. Standing is 20-30% of the day. Traveling to alternate work locations is required 20-30%. Overnight stays required 20-30%. Work can be performed across multiple locations.
