Job Description: Amherst College invites applications from current seniors or recent graduates from Amherst or the Five Colleges for the Social Media Coordinator / Green Dean position. The Social Media Coordinator / Green Dean is a full-time, one-year term position starting at $19.72/hour. Given Amherst's distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community. The Social Media Coordinator / Green Dean helps manage and oversee the College's central social media channels, as well as the President's social media channels. It is an essential role within the social media team in the Office of Communications. This position takes charge of the day-to-day operations of social media: creating, producing and editing content, from text to videography, photography, graphic design and more; monitoring, responding to and engaging with comments, direct messages and tags in a timely manner; remaining current on the social media landscape and brainstorming ideas; liaising with campus partners on content and assisting social media practitioners across the College with their own strategies; helping mentor and direct the student intern team; and serving as a critical backup point to the Director of Social and New Media.
