Machinist

Job Summary:

Operation of various machine shop equipment, and inspection of parts produced. Use of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and other measurement equipment available at Masimo.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform all machine shop standard operations and interpret engineering drawings
• Gather tools and supplies needed for a particular job.
• Possess knowledge required to operate basic machine shop tools and equipment.
• Perform all machine shop standard operations, interpret engineering drawings and effectively determine current revision status of procedures, drawings and all other applicable documentation.
• Perform all inspection required for parts produced in Machine Shop.
• Perform both minor and major equipment preventive maintenance as directed by supervisor. Able to write PM procedures
• Comply with company safety guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for manufacture of parts.
• Use of basic mathematical skills and be ready to learn new more complex machine shop math skills.
• Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.
• Able to work under own initiative.
• Flexible, courteous, friendly and positive approach.
• Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Make a positive contribution to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical device manufacturing experience is also a plus.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience. Certification from technical/vocational school in machining or equivalent will be a plus.

Physical requirements/work environment:

This position primarily works in a machine shop environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking, and the ability to lift and carry maximum 50 lbs. This position requires the safe use of machine shop equipment.

Compensation

The anticipated Hourly Rate range for this position is $20-$30 Per Hour plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
