About the Role

As an Automation QA Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing automated solutions, delivering high quality tests and code contributions. You will be responsible for creating and executing test plans to support multiple products. As an Automation QA Engineer, you will also contribute to a variety of areas including:

  • Test Planning and Analysis
    • Reviews business requirements and design specifications for moderately complex changes/systems for completeness and testability
    • Analyze and understand testing procedures and requirements
    • Obtain requirements from stakeholders and end-users to find automation solutions that align with development and QA goals
  • Automation Design and Execution
    • Identify opportunities to automate the team's process and operations
    • Design, develop and execute QA tests with effective automation scripts
    • Ensure that the automation solutions implemented thoroughly cover all necessary aspects of a product and lead to the resolution of any errors found
    • Ensure automation work leads to a more efficient testing strategy and a higher quality product
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Provides inputs and escalates issues in bug triage meetings and coordinates with development team
    • Responsible for staying highly engaged with product sprint ceremonies
    • Track, manage and report on automation progress and goals
  • Industry Trends and Continuous Improvement
    • Stays current with automation industry trends and technologies that will impact the business

About You

You're a good fit for the role of Automation QA Engineer if you have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance
  • Proficiency in writing clean, modular, reusable code - preferably Java or JavaScript
  • Experience using testing tools such as Playwright is preferred
  • Experience with Backend and Frontend testing and API test automation
  • Comprehensive understanding of test methodologies and techniques
  • Experience working in agile development environment
  • Have a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach
  • Ability to understand performance guidelines to achieve results
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in accordance with organizational needs
  • Ability to provide consistent effort and to work within provided deadlines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship essential to comply with government contract/agency or department of Federal Government requirements

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $88,200 - $163,800.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
