WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: As an nVent Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and platforms that enable data-driven decision making and insights across the organization. You will work with a variety of data sources, technologies, emerging tools, and frameworks. You will collaborate with Business Stakeholders, Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Architects to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and platforms using cloud-based technologies and best practices. (AWS, Snowflake, dbt, HVR, Matillion) Integrate and transform data from various sources, such as SAP, SQL Server, S3, Infor M3, JDE, Salesforce, and APIs. Optimize and monitor the performance, quality, and availability of data pipelines and platforms, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Support data analysis and reporting by creating and maintaining data models, schemas, views, and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS. Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions. Document and communicate data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing across the team and the organization. Research and evaluate new data technologies and trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and challenges, translating them into clear, concise, and technically feasible data analysis requests.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Previous experience in or with 5+ years' experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst
Experience developing end-to-end technical solutions and sustaining solutions in production, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration. Experience in cloud data platforms like Snowflake, AWS , Azure, Databricks Data integration and transformation using tools such as dbt, Matillion, HVR, AWS Data Migration Services, Azure DataFactory, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), Google DataProc, or other data integration technologies Cloud and Data Storage: S3, ADLS, ElasticSearch, Cassandra or other NoSQL storage systems Experience with agile project methodologies and a collaborative work style. Experience in SAP BW, SAP HANA, Kalido MDM and DIW is a plus Experience in data modeling with JDE, Infor M3, Oracle, or SAP ERP systems is a plus Reporting and dashboarding tools like SSRS, BEx, Power BI, Tableau is a plus Microsoft's SQL Server data platform technology (SSIS, SSAS) is a plus
Skills:
Programming expertise in SQL, Python, PySpark or Scala. Ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries. Strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiences. User-facing written and verbal communication skills and experience.

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $89,300.00 - $165,800.00
