Position Highlights:

  • Position: Radiologic Technologist II
  • Hourly Pay Range: $28.50 - $46.00. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
  • Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $29.68 base pay hourly rate beginning with May 2025 paychecks.
  • Location: Arlington Heights, IL
  • Full Time - 36 hours per week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:30pm - 7:00am, rotating weekends & two holidays per year
  • On Call: 2 shifts per month
  • Required Travel: No

A Brief Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist II will operate radiology equipment and perform radiographic examinations to provide the clinical team with films, images, or other records to be used for diagnosis and/or treatment. The Radiologic Technologist II will explain radiology procedures to patients, position patients for safe examinations, and help establish the patient's trust to the clinical team.

What you will do:

  • Positions patients and radiologic equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
  • Practices safe radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Instructs patient concerning procedures to be performed and proper breathing techniques; cautions against physical movements which would alter radiograph results.
  • Utilizes and promotes AIDET concepts in all customer interactions.
  • Reviews images to make sure they are diagnostic and ready for a radiologists' interpretation.
  • Evaluates anatomical views, image quality, completeness of study and other factors to ensure appropriate information is presented.
  • Identifies discrepancies or inconsistencies in patient data and corrects the information in the PACS or EPIC systems.
  • Maintains operational level of equipment and accessories; calibrating and cleaning when needed; reports in writing all broken and malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
  • Transports and operates portable x-ray equipment in areas such as the Emergency Room, Intensive Care, and Cardiac Care when patients cannot be taken to the Radiology Department.
  • Receives patient medical history and information, ensures files and records are properly completed with correct information such as patient's name, anatomical views taken, procedural code and so forth.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments to satisfy routine and provisional requests.
  • Contacts nursing units and patient transport department to coordinate in-house patient exams in a timely manner.
  • Initiates internal transport if delay is communicated from transport.
  • Communicates pertinent data to nursing unit responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Ensures that patients are not left in the hallways by assigning radiology staff to transport.
  • Assists in Fluoroscopy and OR procedures, if applicable.
  • Assists and contributes to the training of X-ray students and new employees.
  • Has basic knowledge of HIS/RIS/PACS.
  • If assigned to surgery, carries charge pager and surgery phone at all times.


What you will need:

  • 1 Year previous x-ray experience in a surgical environment, preferred.
  • ARRT - Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required
  • Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - State of Illinois IEMA (IEMA)
  • AHA Heartsaver CPR - American Heart Association (AHA) Required
  • Valid Illinois driver's license Required
