Position Title: Temporary Personal Property Tax Specialist Location: Remote (Must work East Coast business hours) Contract Duration: 6-8 weeks (up to 2 months) Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Temporary Personal Property Tax Specialist to support our tax team during a critical filing period. This role will be responsible for preparing and filing 100+ multi-state personal property tax returns, each with unique compliance requirements and deadlines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and file personal property tax returns across multiple states, ensuring compliance with varying state-specific regulations and deadlines. Manage a diverse portfolio of filings-from simple to complex-while meeting all submission timelines. Coordinate internal approvals and signatures to keep filings moving forward efficiently. Collaborate with internal tax and finance teams to track due dates and required documentation. Maintain a full-time schedule (40 hours/week) in alignment with East Coast business hours. (Preferred) Use SAP to support return preparation and filing processes. Required Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in preparing personal property tax returns; multi-state experience is a plus. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task completion. Strong follow-up and communication skills to ensure timely internal approvals. Availability to work full-time remotely while aligning with East Coast hours. Challenges You'll Face: Managing strict filing deadlines-late submissions can result in penalties. Balancing a high volume of both simple and more involved returns. Proactively securing approvals and signatures across departments. Navigating a wide range of multi-state compliance requirements, some more complex than others.
