Job Description:

RN-ER-Clinical Coordinator

  • Assists Department Director in meeting operational excellence through coordination of delivery of patient care services within a designated scope. Directs human and physical resources to achieve an established standard of patient care.
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties and maintains a demeanor complementary to BHC values. Assures appropriate patient care management and adjust daily operations to meet the needs of a changing patient care environment.

  • This position serves as a clinical nurse as the individual spends majority of his/her time (>50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on unit through provision of nursing rounds, huddles, assessments, treatments and lobby announcements; facilitating admission, transfer, ensuring quality measures and processes are followed, and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.
  • Other responsibilities include supporting the Director as needed regarding; nursing care team development, program planning, and monitoring financial and human resources process improvements to achieve an established standard of excellence in patient care and an environment that promotes healing. Assist the director with departmental audits for quality improvements and patient safety.

I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • 3 Years of training specific to the Emergency Department or equivalent training.
  • Current RN license in the state of Kentucky or Kentucky work permit.
  • Certification in relevant specialty area or in nursing professional development.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, BLS, 12 Lead EKG, BCA, and ENPC as required by department of assignment.
  • 3 Years or clinical management experience preferred
