Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer I will ensure the overall quality of manufactured products, tests processes, create documentation, devise quality tests, and define the criteria a test result should meet. This individual will also monitor quality standards and track performance trends to identify areas of needed improvement.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and review inspection data to ensure component integrity and investigate and resolve discrepancies found during part inspection.
- Update control plans for correct gauges and order of operation.
- Collect data for runoff and gauge study.
- Generate and drive to completion CARs as assigned by Supervisor.
- Able to review and disposition non-compliant material of minor issue complexity.
- Assess issue culpability with assistance from senior staff as needed.
- Identify features for inspection and correctly assign dimensional values and tolerances specified in print to a given feature.
- Develop and document ISO-compliant standards under direction of Senior Engineers.
- Expected to contribute to primary areas of inspection for which training has been provided.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.
- Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
- Follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 0-3 years of experience required.
- Proficient in blueprint reading.
- Understand the ISO process.
- Basic understanding of the requirements of ATF compliance. Full understanding of the critical role ATF compliance plays in the continued health of the business.
- Understand and work fluently with GD&T symbology assigned per ASME Y14.5.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
- Complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively to supervision verbally and in written format regarding problems and corrective action.
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
