Brand Marketing Specialist -Partnerships & Athletes

*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ in Richmond, CA. In-office expectation is 3 days a week*

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a member of the Brand Marketing team, the Brand Specialist is responsible for bringing the Mountain Hardwear brand to life through our athletes, events and community partners. Reporting to the Brand Manager, this individual will lead athlete, event and community programs that elevate brand storytelling, drive authentic engagement, and expand Mountain Hardwear's reach to targeted audiences.

This Brand Specialist will focus their efforts on supporting and maintaining three main levels of the business: (1) Athlete & Ambassador Team (2) Community Partners and (3) Branded Events Marketing, in partnership with the Brand Manager. Our vision is to be the most trustworthy gear and apparel makers who empower more people to play in the outdoors, as the Brand Specialist you'll be the voice of our brand engaging through our fields of play with the climbing, mountaineering, skiing, snowboarding, and trail communities encouraging them to Seek Wilder Paths. In addition, they will craft stories around athletes' stories, seed product and offer on-site activations at events to build brand awareness, and consumer engagement,

The ideal candidate is a marketing professional with a proven track record contributing to initiatives for a brand athlete landscape, a strategic approach to program development, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners within Mountain Hardwear's organization.


HOWYOU'LLMAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Maintain a professional relationship with each athlete, ensuring strong brand presence, product attribution and efficient management through seasonal initiatives

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities around athlete-driven stories aligning with seasonal campaigns, including organizing content creation trips, biannual team meetings, athlete summits, etc.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships, identifying strategies for athlete activations and/or identify involvement in brand or product campaigns e.g., across social channels, events, photo, video.

  • Provide Event Marketing support, from planning to on-site execution to drive brand awareness with our target audiences

  • Foster relationships with Mountain Hardwear non-profit organizations to plan, build deeper consumer and community connections

  • Evaluate athlete and community partners annually to ensure ROI while identifying and proposing seasonal partnership opportunities.

  • Coordinate and contribute to the delivery and execution of athlete and event marketing while staying, on budget, and tracking necessary KPIs

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Mountain Hardwear brand within our communities, fostering meaningful connections with consumers in our fields of play

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.

  • 2-4 years professional experience minimum.

  • Experience in related outdoor or sporting industry is beneficial. A strong connection to and understanding of mountain sports (climb, snow sports, trail, mountaineering, camp, etc.).

  • Must possess effective communication skills and excellence in writing and editing.

  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in an entrepreneurial, deadline-driven environment

  • Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects with a high level of detail and quality.

  • Travel up to 30% to trade shows, events, content creation trips, etc.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Salary Range: $81,400 - $136,000 *Pay decisions are determined by multiple factors, including what the market is paying, a candidate's capabilities and skills, years of experience, and internal equity.
