Compensation / Benefits

  • $15.46-$25.24/hr. based on previous work experience.
  • Evening differential $1.50/hr.
  • Night differential $1.75/hr.

The Centralized Pre-Optimization Clinic provides care coordination and patient outreach across the care continuum. The team consists of highly skilled nurses, providers, and support staff who follow patients care prior to surgery and/or procedures. The team ensures that the patient receives the right care, for the right amount of time at every level of service to achieve the best outcome possible.


Job Summary

Job Summary

  • Performs admission interview process at the Laboratory Outreach Service Centers or uses information provided by the outreach clients at the time of specimen collection or pickup.
  • Ensures that all Medicare, insurance and managed care requirements are met prior to the registration process.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding patients.
  • Obtains blood specimens (on or off site) following established procedures, established time frames, and safety requirements.
  • Obtains specimens (on or off site) requiring special collection procedures following established procedures, established time frames, and safety requirements.
  • Diagnostic electrocardiogram on outpatients and Therapeutic INR QC and testing procedures.
  • Urine collection and processing.
  • Specimen collections other than blood or urine.
  • Assists in the laboratory area.
  • Acts as a resource for Laboratory information.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and Medicare requirements.
  • Order and maintain supplies at PAR level.
  • Various Laboratory Requirements
  • Proper Phone Etiquette.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school education or equivalent GED.
  • Requires some knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Skill in use of computers including word processing.

Experience

  • Requires three months customer service experience.
  • Requires experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Experience as a phlebotomist may be substituted for Customer Service experience.
  • Phlebotomy experience is 3 months phlebotomy experience, or a Clinical Phlebotomy certificate, or 6 months experience in a medical field providing patient care which includes drawing blood.
  • The Phlebotomy Certificate must include a minimum of 32 hours of a clinical rotation.
  • Prefer 1 year of experience in a medical setting.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure / Certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
  • Outreach employee's must have a Valid Oklahoma State Driver's license with less than 3 points on his/her record if being hired into department # 40110.
  • must meet NRHS MVR policy criteria or Defensive Driving must be taken.
