What is Market Economics:

Operating at the intersection of finance, strategy, and public policy, the Market Economics team provides a unique opportunity to develop a diverse and robust understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. The Market Economics function at Cencora is responsible for providing strategic and financial expertise to the businesses in an effort to reshape the economics of Cencora's value proposition in its core distribution business in response to various market factors and changes to government policy.

What you will be doing:

Under the direction of the VP, Market Economics, the Market Economics Manager is responsible for overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder quantitative modeling and financial scenario analysis and generate strategic insights that will help inform Cencora's leaders to make critical decisions that will shape the future of the organization. As such, this individual will frequently lead projects and/or workstreams with cross-functional teams potentially including both internal and external stakeholders. The manager will also be frequently asked to create and present key and relevant findings / updates to senior executives.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and create complex financial models to quantify Cencora's risk or opportunity from proposed regulation or legislation, new contracting strategies, or material changes in channel economics

  • Lead and/or contribute to project working groups that include individuals from across the organization

  • Present and build presentations to senior management that depict strategies, progress, and supporting analyses

  • Participate in the creation of new economic models and financial structures to allow Cencora to execute its strategies

  • Generate ad hoc analysis as needed

  • Perform related duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience

  • A strong background in analytics, pricing strategy, modeling, economics, and data is required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or another business-related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related progressive experience in Finance, Strategy, Analytics or Pricing is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong leader with the drive to develop team talent and meet organizational goals

  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and Word. Power BI a plus

  • High level of creativity; ability to work independently and with teams

  • Ability to present findings in front of senior executives in a clear and concise manner

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work independently under pressure with limited supervision

  • Strong knowledge of profitability models and ability to perform fact-based analysis

  • Strong ability to write concise business narrative memos
