Spectra Tech has an immediate need for a HR Generalist I in our corporate office in Oak Ridge, TN. Description: An HR Generalist's responsibilities will include routine tasks of substantial variety and complexity in support of Human Resources in a government contract/DOE environment. Duties include comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, addressing employee concerns, participating in the investigation process by interviewing individuals involved, and collaborating with other members of the department on the hiring and onboarding process for company employees. A high regard for confidentiality and the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment. Essential Duties: Prior Government contract experience required. Onboards new employees and benefit administration. Provides training on HR policies, benefits and company procedures and regulations to all employees, as directed by management. Data entry using HRIS system, Unanet and Quick Books New hire in-processing includes coordinating background checks, drug screening, and physicals with third party vendors. Effectively communicating with employees and managers when questions arise Completes personnel forms, mandated reports, logs, and records as required Maintains data integrity within human resource information systems Maintains physical and digital files for all employees Familiar with employment law and affirmative action Completes verification of employment as requested Completes other duties as assigned Qualifications: Two (2) years of college with courses in business administration or relevant discipline and 1-2 years of experience OR no college with a minimum of 5 to 7 years progressive administrative experience required Proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required Advanced oral and written communications skills required Strong empathy and people skills are necessary |
