Here's what you'd do:

  • The Electronics Test Technician will play a crucial role in the Manufacturing Department, focusing on testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring the quality of electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
  • This position needs a strong foundation in electronics, the ability to read schematics and using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and DMMs.
  • The technician will be responsible for performing PCBA, unit, and top-level tests, maintaining documentation, and supporting cross-departmental efforts to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Additional tasks include minor rework and maintaining an organised work environment
  • Perform Testing: Conduct PCBA, unit, and top-level tests according to established company procedures to ensure product functionality and compliance with quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with electronic and electromechanical components or assemblies.
  • Utilise schematic diagrams and test equipment to identify faults and implement solutions.
  • Documentation: Accurately record and maintain all manufacturing and testing documentation, ensuring all records are up to date and comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Engineering and Quality Assurance, to quickly resolve technical issues and improve production processes.
  • Rework and Repairs: Perform minor rework on sub-assemblies or components as needed, including component replacement and mechanical adjustments.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, calibrate, and maintain test equipment to ensure its proper functionality. Report any equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  • Organisational Responsibilities: Maintain a clean, organised, and ESD-safe work environment, adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback and suggestions to enhance testing processes and product quality.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Follow written procedures and verbal directions from supervisors, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all tasks performed.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety and ESD protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies, particularly in the context of medical device manufacturing.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in technical production or test experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting electromechanical assemblies, identifying issues, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the proper use of test equipment, including oscilloscopes and digital multimeters (DMMs).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols, with the ability to apply best practices in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with application of complex medical device quality requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems is recommended.
  • Prior experience working with medical devices or in a regulated industry such as aerospace or defence
  • Electronic Theory: Strong understanding of basic electronic theory, with the ability to read and interpret electronic schematics recommended.
  • Component Identification: Ability to accurately identify electronic components and ensure their correct placement within assemblies.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in following written procedures and verbal instructions and in maintaining documentation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work effectively within a team and across departments, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain a clean, orderly work area and manage time effectively.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks within a dynamic manufacturing environment
