Overview The Sr. Specialist will work with IT and approved vendors to perform annual maintenance/system optimization for all IT systems within corporate security including access control, and CCTV systems. Additionally, duties will include assisting in deploying various security applications entailing installing, configuring, provisioning, and testing of hardware components, software, and firmware as well as assist with vendor installations of security equipment being joined to the corporate network. The Sr Specialist will also assist in preparing bid specifications for the installation of physical security related network equipment to support Con Edison's Corporate Security infrastructure to include assisting with the technical evaluations of contractor proposals, software, or hardware. Sr Specialist will be expected to have a strong focus on accuracy and system integrity in order to maintain Corporate Security network systems and will have the ability to ensure those systems operate smoothly without interruption by addressing potential issues proactively.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Primary contact/liaison with all members of Corporate Security experiencing issues with any Corporate Security Network Platform / System. This will include troubleshooting the issue and following up with the Help Desk and/or IT as needed to resolve the issue.
- Assist in preparing detailed bid specifications for the installation of physical security related network equipment to support Con Edison's Corporate Security infrastructure. Assist with the technical evaluations of contractor proposals, software, or hardware. Implement cyber security best practices for all security related equipment.
- Provide guidance and consulting on all IT systems within corporate security. Work with IT and approved vendors to perform annual maintenance/system optimization for all IT systems within corporate security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve client network issues. Works collaboratively with other departments to achieve all project goals.
- Assist in deploying various security applications including installing, configuring, provisioning, and testing of hardware components, software, and firmware.
- Assist with vendor installations of security equipment being joined to the corporate network.
- Assist with commissioning, and maintenance of all types of physical security application devices.
- Responsible for the CCTV equipment firmware upgrade program.
- Maintain the Department NVR/Camera list containing pertinent information of all equipment including username, password, MAC addresses, and IP addresses.
- Complete an annual review with door owners (within ProWatch) of access lists to their respective doors verifying it is up to date and accurate.
- Take scheduled on call duty and participate in off-hour emergency response activities as required.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Associate's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience or
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Field of study in one of the following Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology and A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience
Relevant Work Experience
- 3-5 years Must have experience working within a large Corporate Enterprise Network environment, is required.
- 3-5 years Familiarity with access control, identity management, and security monitoring technologies, is required.
- 3-5 years Experience in Excel, is required.
- 3-5 years Excellent oral and written skills is required.
- 3-5 years Knowledge of IT Troubleshooting technologies and familiarity with database management, is required.
- 2 years Familiarity with Corporate Security Network Platforms, is preferred.
- 2 years Familiarity with Microsoft Project, is preferred.
- 2 years Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) such as Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL, is preferred.

- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
