Summary:

Hitachi's R&D Center, located in Santa Clara, CA, serves as a pivotal technology hub to support Hitachi's global Social Innovation business. Our focus spans original and applied research, technology innovation, intellectual property creation, and solving real-world challenges. We collaborate closely with Hitachi's product and business divisions, contributing to Hitachi's IoT and AI business across a variety of industries, with a special focus on optimized manufacturing.

We are looking for a UI developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to our Industrial Digital Transformation solution portfolio by creating frontend solutions that our customers and solution developers will interact with. You'll get a chance to engage in real-world deployments in manufacturing facilities at scale. Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the ongoing software development and testing of scalable UI solutions.

  • Collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team that includes software, network, sensing, and domain experts, building upon existing designs and architectures to add unique features and differentiators.

Qualifications:

  • An MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, accompanied by at least 2 years of experience in software development.

  • Experience in frontend technologies such as React.js, Javascript (ES6+), Typescript, HTML5, CSS are required.

  • Experience in interactive and graph data visualization for AI/ML applications using D3.js, Recharts, or Three.js. are required.

  • Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and WebSockets is required. Experience with Docker and container management is required.

  • Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines such as Git are required.

  • Experience in react state management libraries like Redux or similar is a strong plus.

  • Experience in deployment and performance optimization such as bundling tools (Vite/parcel) is a strong plus.

  • Experience in UX design and UI prototyping and related tools such as Figma etc. is a plus.

  • Familiarity in cloud platforms and cloud-native services, particularly in AWS or Azure, is a plus.

  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as FastAPI or Node.js is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

For California only (as required by California's Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $93,891 - $117,364. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
