Woolpert is hiring a Construction Manager/Resident Project Representative II to join our dynamic Infrastructure team at our Glendale, Colorado office. This position reports to the Engineer Team Leader and assists in the construction of public and private Infrastructure projects for Aviation. Qualified candidates will have a good knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods and materials. Priority will be given to candidates who have 3 - 10+ years of construction experience.



Responsibilities

As a Construction Manager/Resident Project Representative II at Woolpert, you will:

    Have increasing responsibilities to perform construction management duties
  • Have a good ability at analyzing and programs independently
  • Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Apply an increased amount of professional judgment and discretion
  • Must consistently apply Woolpert procedures
  • Have a good ability at performing quality control reviews and assists with quality assurance procedures within areas of expertise
  • Manage the inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications
  • Ensure inspections are completed according to contract protocols.
  • Review and interpret construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications
  • Be capable of resolving minor issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Communicate with contractors if test failures occur.
  • Manage through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
  • Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Produce daily and weekly reports
  • Perform contract administration tasks
  • Monitor contractor construction schedules
  • Review contractor material submittals


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • 3 - 10+ years of construction experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
  • Good knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods and materials
  • Good knowledge of contract administration and pay estimates
  • Good knowledge of soil analysis, materials, compaction, and density tests
  • Thorough knowledge of survey, drafting and engineering
  • Familiarity with construction observation reporting and procedures.
  • Good daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability.
  • Good communication skills with clients and staff.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 10 Hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites as well as comply with applicable safety codes and requirements.
  • Extensive overnight travel required

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree highly desirable
  • Experience with paving/asphalt, earthwork, stormwater, electrical, and runway/taxi way edge lighting is highly desirable
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.
