Introduction to the job

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. The Application Software Team are product owners for several critical applications that deliver data from light source to the customer and bring it back to ASML for analysis. We are responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing the solutions for all data products used within the DUV group along with integration and deployment of our products.

As a DevOps Engineer you will work on developing and maintaining the build systems supporting our software products for the DUV line of lasers. As part of the Application Software team, you would work closely with Embedded Software and Test Tools teams to collect and refine requirements for the project you are working on. Using those requirements, you will formulate designs, implement those designs, and test them.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Automating large part of software development process.
  • Interacting and consulting with other software teams to help implementing a build solution.
  • Managing and administration of Software Configuration, and Agile release process.
  • Collecting and refining requirements for the build automation process.
  • Designing solutions for the collected requirements.
  • Building software automation, for example Jenkins pipelines.
  • Administering development tools, for example JIRA, Subversion, Github.
  • Scripting using various tools, eg Groovy, shell, batch files.
  • Creating and managing Agile change orders.
  • Administration of Software release process.
  • Upgrading and maintaining build machines and application as per IT guidelines.
  • Regular Reporting of current and future work to the organization.
  • Contribute to the creation of a long-term DevOps roadmap.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree.
  • 3+ years of DevOps experience
  • Previous experience with the following technologies an advantage: Groovy, Jenkins Pipeline, JIRA, CI/CD, Dashboarding (eg Grafana), databases, Version Control System (SVN, GitHub).
Skills
  • Highly skilled with the Jenkins Pipeline development
  • Experience with administering JIRA
  • Knowledge of Agile Change Order processing
  • Experience working with different flavors of Linux and Windows
  • Knowledge of Software configuration management and the ability to read and create appropriate project documentation.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads.
  • Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use Microsoft office products Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio.

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$74,625-124,375

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
