About this opportunity: We are excited to present a dynamic opportunity at the forefront of the IT industry for a Test Engineer II. As part of our team, you will play an integral role in testing, administering, troubleshooting, and supporting our wide-ranging customer application systems. Through your expert knowledge and detailed manual or automated Test case design, you will provide essential services that meet and surpass customer requests. With an exciting blend of hands-on and remote work (requires working on-site at Verizon's Westlake MTCE Lab), you will serve as a valuable addition to our versatile, customer-oriented team. What you will do:
- Design and Execute Test Cases: Analyze functional scenarios, draft and rework test cases using HLD/LLD references in standardized templates, identify and prepare required test data and environments, execute tests, document results, and report execution outcomes.
- Troubleshoot and Communicate: Identify and log issues using the Defect Tracking tool, validate test data and scenarios, retest defects, update tracking tool, publish defect reports, assign fixes, and coordinate with the development team for follow-ups.
- Comprehensive Functionality Testing: Conduct functionality and compatibility testing of Microsoft Teams across platforms like OCM VOLTE, OCM OTT, iPhone, Android, and Windows, covering communication features such as Wi-Fi Calling, 4G/LTE/5G, voicemail, call forwarding, and call merge.
- Test Case Development and Execution: Develop detailed test cases and plans using TestRail based on business requirements, ensuring comprehensive coverage, traceability, and execution in both Lab and Production environments for Verizon Wireless (VZW).
- Diverse Testing Types: Perform various testing types, including Functional, UI, Regression, Black Box, and Smoke Testing, to validate application performance and functionality, utilizing TestRail for tracking and reporting defects.
- Device and Platform Compatibility: Lead compatibility testing efforts for smooth operation of Teams applications across devices, including One Talk Desk Phone and Mobile Application, ensuring audio quality and feature integration.
- Specialized and Companion Mode Testing: Focus on testing 5G technologies, including New Radio and EPS fallback, and conduct Companion Mode testing with Verizon Interactive Testing Platform on Raspberry Pi for enhanced functionality and user interaction.
The skills you bring:
- Education and Experience: Holds a bachelor's degree or related IT experience, with over 7 years of IT experience specializing in testing web-based, client/server-based, ERP, CRM, BPM, and mobile application software.
- Testing Expertise: Possesses 7+ years of experience in test case development, performance testing, and test design, with strong hands-on experience in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
- Communication Technologies: Strong understanding of communication technologies and protocols, including 4G/LTE/5G, with domain expertise in Telecommunications (Verizon).
- Tool Proficiency: Proficient in using TestRail, Jira, and ALM QC Bug tracking tool for test management and defect tracking, with basic knowledge of automation tools such as QTP, Selenium Web Driver, and Load Runner.
- Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration: Skilled in knowledge sharing and collaboration, facilitating effective teamwork and project execution.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exhibits excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality testing outcomes.
- Requirements and Reporting: Testing, defect tracking, and reporting. Remove references to project planning and scheduling.
- Software Testing Specialization: Specializes in testing a variety of software applications, contributing to comprehensive quality assurance processes.
- Telecommunications Domain Expertise: Offers specialized knowledge in the telecommunications domain, enhancing testing strategies and outcomes.
