Medical Assistant - Certified

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will support the patient care treatment process by assisting the physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinical staff in the appropriate delivery of patient care services.

• May be expected to perform multiple advanced clinical support tasks without supervision.

• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.

• Will arrange examining-room instruments and equipment, maintain supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean.

• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.

• This position prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.

Minimum Required Qualifications
High School graduate and successful completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program. Medical Assistant certification is required with the approved certifications (i.e. CMA, NRCMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA). 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
