Description
The School of Nursing welcomes Master's-prepared RN applicants with clinical experience for part-time, adjunct faculty positions. Work assignments, modalities, days, times, and locations vary. Faculty responsibilities include teaching in online, classroom, clinical, and/or simulation environments in undergraduate and/or graduate courses for adult health, medical-surgical, psychiatric mental health, pediatrics, critical care, childbearing families, and other areas as needed and appropriate.

  • Undergraduate assignments will be Muncie/campus-based and are not online/remote opportunities.
  • Graduate assignments will be online assignments.


The position requires the incorporation of evidence-based practice into teaching activities and includes pre-planning and post-semester grading periods. Position may be renewed based on the needs of the School and satisfactory performance and student evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university; and
  • Earned master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university by date of appointment; and
  • Clinical nursing experience in area of teaching; and
  • Ability to adapt to, learn, use, and integrate technology - including new and/or unfamiliar technology - in nursing education; and
  • Excellent organizational, and written and oral interpersonal communication skills.

Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience in higher education.
  • Earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Current clinical practice as an NP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, competence, and experience in an advanced nursing practice role.

Required Certifications/Licensures
Current unencumbered State of Indiana Registered Nurse License by date of appointment.
Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check.
