Job Summary

Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a Director for the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Employee Engagement (CTLEE). The Director plans, directs, facilitates and
supervises the assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional materials, curriculum, technologies and programs, and employee engagement initiatives. This role
will provide leadership and collaborate across the institution and district to enhance faculty and staff development, fostering innovation and advancement in learning, instruction, and assessment, with a strong focus on advancing the college's commitment to student success. To best serve the students, college and community, this position requires a physical presence on campus.

Essential Functions

30% Facilitates college-wide sharing of best practices in teaching and learning. Consults with faculty, administrators and staff on issues related to the selection, implementation and evaluation of instructional materials and technologies; directs program analysis, needs assessment, task analysis, content analysis, learner characteristic assessment, environmental review and instructional analysis; participates in committee work related to learning and instructional design and shared governance; builds and maintains a community of faculty around teaching and learning techniques and strategies.

20% Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of CTLEE staff, identifies training needs and opportunities.

20% Plans, directs, facilitates and supervises the assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional materials, curriculum, technologies and programs; manages and reports on budget.

10% Applies and modifies instructional design models and instructional systems, serves as consultant on special learning, instructional and/or assessment programs.

10% Directs and conducts applied research and data interpretation; Analyzes and uses data to inform decisions about programs and services within the CTLEE.

10% Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, educational leadership or instructional design, or related field; six years of experience in educational leadership or instructional design and development, that includes two years of supervisory experience and program development and evaluation.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Instructional Psychology, Curriculum Development, Organizational Development, or related field.
  2. Three (3) or more years' progressively responsible leadership experience in a teaching and learning center including experience in designing and delivering faculty development and employee engagement opportunities, workshops and webinars.
  3. Demonstrated experience leading and establishing a collaborative work environment with a track record of successful collaboration with faculty departments, and staff.
  4. Three (3) or more years experience teaching and/or developing/designing both online and traditional courses in higher education
  5. Two (2) or more years' demonstrated experience in project management with ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize strategic planning, make data informed decision making, and budget resources.
  6. Demonstrated experience using and/or managing and/or implementing learning management systems (LMS) and other instructional technology.
  7. Three (3) or more years experience with assessment tools and methodologies for educational programs, data analysis and interpretation skills for program improvement, and Peer or Master Reviewer certification in Quality Matters or similar.
