Job Summary Under the direction of the VP-CFO Ambulatory, the Director of Physician Compensation will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of clinician compensation within Prisma Health Medical Group. This role is responsible for managing physician compensation programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning compensation structures with organizational objectives. The Director will lead data aggregation, analytics, performance metric calculations, and compensation administration, while also providing financial insights and responding to provider inquiries. The incumbent will establish a centralized operating model to standardize compensation practices across service areas, optimizing efficiency and consistency in physician compensation management.

- Compensation Plan Administration
- Lead the development, implementation, and administration of physician compensation programs in alignment with Prisma Health's strategic goals.
- Partner with operational and financial leaders to provide expert guidance on compensation models, rate structures, and financial impacts.
- Oversee the reconciliation of physician compensation, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain efficient processes for administering physician compensation arrangements.
- Facilitate the Physician Compensation Executive Committee, ensuring review and approvals for compensation requests per Prisma Health compensation policy.
- Design and implement management tools and key performance indicators to monitor physician compensation trends and budget alignment.
- Educate physicians and key stakeholders on updates to compensation methodologies, regulatory changes, and financial implications.
- Coordinate with physician contracting and payroll to ensure accurate and timely distribution of compensation.
- Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management
- Serve as a subject matter expert on physician compensation regulations, including Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statutes, and Fair Market Value (FMV)/Commercial Reasonableness (CR) standards.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and compliance teams to ensure compensation structures meet all regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to mitigate legal and financial risks related to physician compensation.
- Ensure all physician compensation arrangements comply with Prisma Health's internal policies and external regulatory standards.
- Leadership and Organizational Impact
- Act as the primary organizational contact for all clinician compensation-related matters.
- Represent Prisma Health's mission and values in all interactions with physicians, executive leadership, and external partners.
- Lead a team of compensation analysts and decision support professionals, providing oversight, mentorship, and performance management.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with finance, legal, human resources, and operational leadership to align compensation strategies with system-wide objectives.
- Serve as a member of the Physician Compensation Executive Committee, contributing to high-level decision-making and strategy development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
- Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have two or more direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Education -Bachelor's degree required (Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field). Master's degree preferred.
- Experience - 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in physician compensation, with deep expertise in regulatory compliance and compensation structures. 5+ years of leadership experience, managing teams and compensation programs within a healthcare system or medical group. Proven track record in designing, implementing, and administering physician compensation plans, including productivity-based models, incentive structures, and hybrid frameworks.

Strong leadership and people management capabilities, fostering a high-performance culture. Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of physician compensation processes.
