- Responsible for effectively installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining large systems software and related infrastructure.
- Ensures operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
- Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
- Provide after-hour support as necessary for project implementations or responding to incidents.
- Determine the root cause, identify a permanent resolution, and implement the fix.
- Complete final review and approval of documentation created or updated by less experienced staff.
- Use tools to help automate processes and make systems more efficient, manageable, available, and secure.
- Participate in and support capacity planning and developing long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with Engineering and Architecture.
- Respond to and resolve incidents; work with vendors to identify and implement fixes.
- Use advanced diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues.
- Guide incidents to less experienced staff.
- Identify root causes of system issues and work with partner teams to fix the cause.
- Provide expert problem-solving of technical incidents based on mastery of the system and adjoining systems.
- Guide less experienced team members.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with its Risk Appetite.
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the client's brand.
- Maintain the client's internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and any issues external regulators raise.
- In this role, you will develop and implement automated solutions in the mainframe modernization and z/OS environments.
- Our goal is to save our used users time, enhance their daily experience, and improve the quality of data captured.
- Design, build, and implementation of mainframe modernization projects.
- Utilize REXX, TSO, ISPF, DB2, and batch JCL to create interactive utilities and perform batch processing.
- Support existing solutions leveraging OPS/MVS and System Automation for z/OS.
- Provide support for vendor-provided applications.
- Perform Proof of Concept exercises for potential vendor-provided applications
- Assist other mainframe team members and departments by identifying and automating processes and tasks that can benefit from automation.
- Work with application teams and business users to understand their requirements, develop a proposed solution, and build the agreed-upon utility or batch process.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in systems programming in a mainframe environment.
- Minimum of 7 years experience reading and digesting technical information.
- Minimum of 7 years experience interpreting or discussing information with others, which involves terminology or concepts unfamiliar to many people.
- Minimum of 7 years experience leading technical teams toward a common goal or project within a larger project.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in project management.
- Minimum of 7 years experience with REXX, TSO, ISPF, DB2, batch JCL.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in CA7, PanAPT, PanValet, IDZ, ADDI, Visual Studio, and Mainframe DevOps tools and concepts.
- Minimum of 7 years experience with OPS/MVS or IBM System Automation for z/OS.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- Certifications or special training in Related Technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) and container orchestration
- Experience using GIT, GITLAB, etc.
- Scripting experience with Shell and Python.
- Experience with z/OS UNIX shell & OMVS commands.
- Experience with Ansible for Z.
- Experience with DB2 ISPF and SAS/WPS.
- Detail-oriented.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good customer focus, including proven experience managing customer needs and multiple work priorities.
