The Department of Kinesiology and Health at Rutgers University invites applications for a non-tenure track ( NTT) faculty position at the Teaching Instructor rank beginning Fall 2025. This is an academic year appointment with the possibility of renewal through the University's teaching faculty track. Teaching instructors are expected to demonstrate mastery of relevant subject matter, effective teaching in the classroom and provide service according to the mission of the Department and Rutgers University.
We seek candidates with expertise in quantitative methods including sport performance analytics, research methods, business intelligence, and sport statistics. Course load may include Sport Informatics and Analytics, Basic Statistics in Sport Management, Foundations of Sport Management and/or other courses as determined by the Department Chair. We are particularly interested in candidates that can demonstrate excellence in teaching, a record of accomplishments outside of the classroom, and service to the Department, University and Community.

Minimum Education and Experience
The successful candidate must have:

  • A Master's degree or Higher in Sport Management, Statistics/Informatics, Kinesiology or a related field.
  • Related teaching or professional experience in sport management or related fields.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and industry partners.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Sport Management, Statistics/Informatics, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of teaching experience in higher education.
  • Record of contributions outside of the classroom related to sport management.
  • Record of service to their department, school, and field of expertise.
  • A record of professional development, with a focus on subject-specific and/or teaching and learning effectiveness in Higher Education.
