We are seeking an organized HVAC Operations Supervisor to join our Portland, OR, based team. This position will be responsible for leading a team of technicians maintaining customer-owned HVAC assets throughout the Portland metropolitan area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Employee Management: Supervise daily activities of HVAC technicians, providing direction and support; Conduct site visits to inspect work and ensure quality and safety standards are followed; Collaborate with union employees in other trades to ensure smooth workflows; Monitor technician performance and provide feedback.

  • Work Order Management: Prioritize and assign work orders in Tririga based on urgency and expertise; Track progress, follow up on delays, and maintain accurate records.

  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate regular and emergency HVAC maintenance across school campuses; Ensure HVAC systems, including pneumatic controls, steam/electric boilers, and other commercial systems, are maintained effectively; Oversee refrigerator/freezer servicing with third-party contractors.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Serve as the primary contact for HVAC-related issues with the Senior Operations Manager, Mechanical Manager, custodial staff, and other departments; Provide updates to the Mechanical Manager on team performance, equipment status, and maintenance progress; Collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and union personnel to resolve issues, and facilitate work order completion.

  • Site Inspections & Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections to ensure HVAC systems meet safety and regulatory standards; Identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems, to include implementing preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Contract & Supply Management:Manage third-party service provider contracts, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget; Order and maintain HVAC supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are adequate and cost-effective.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in HVAC industry.

  • At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in HVAC industry or facilities maintenance.

  • Experience with large-scale, multi-site facilities in an educational or institutional setting.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in HVAC or related field is preferred.

  • EPA Universal certificate is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including pneumatic and DDC controls, steam/electric boilers, and commercial equipment.

  • Proven ability to lead a team and collaborate with union employees.
    Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.

  • Experience in work order management and prioritization in fast-paced environments.

  • Proficiency with maintenance management software (e.g.,Trirega).

  • Ability to perform site visits and inspections across multiple campuses.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle hands-on tasks as needed.

  • Valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation.
