Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Journeymen Cost Estimator/Cost Analyst for the EPASS Cyber and Networks Directorate (EPASS HN II) contract, supporting the Aerial Networks Division (AFLCMC/HNA) located at Lackland AFB

WORK LOCATION: Hanscom, AFB, MA

JOB STATUS: Full-Time; salaried

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Education: Bachelors or Master's Degree in a related field
  • Years of Experience: Eight years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD. Two additional years of directly related experience with proper certifications may substitute for the Master's degree. A total of 15 years of directly related experience (8 DoD) may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to apply routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation
  • Experience using the Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) Tool Suite to perform government program office estimates and analyses
  • Current Required Security Clearance: DoD Secret clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage, oversee/lead, or perform scientific work that involves designing, developing, and adapting mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques. Analyze management problems and provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions.

  • Use of routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation
  • Use of cost estimating outputs to assess the impact various factors have on the costs to design, research, develop, operate, maintain, and dispose of a particular weapon system
  • Analyze all elements affecting costs for a project of limited scope
  • Analyze Contractor financial data using EVM measures of merit to determine program viability with respect to cost, schedule, and performance
  • Analytical processes, such as setting up the problem, conducting background research, collecting, and reducing data, displaying data for analysis, formulating mathematical expressions, and drawing conclusions
  • Compliance with all cost estimating guidance including the appropriate DoD, Air Force, AFMC, or lower-level policy, publications, supplements, manuals, etc., as well as applicable documents and regulations, systems, processes, and guides
