DEKA Research & Development is seeking a highly flexible and multi-talented Field Operations Engineer for ourFieldTeam. This individual must be willing totravel up to 50%.FieldOperations are high stakes, fast paced, customer facing ventures that require quick thinking and professionalism under pressure.In this role you will interface with multidisciplinary teams to develop software and hardware in robotic solutions across the country. In this role it iscrucial to be self-motivatedto learn and adapt.

How you will make an impact as a Field Operations Engineer team member:
  • Develop software and hardware:
    • Write unit tests for robotic and medical device software.
    • Design and build manufacturing and inspection hardware.
    • Solve path-planning and localization problems for robotics.
    • Develop AI tools for product inspection.
    • Collaborate on newrobotics, medical devices, and experimental solutions.
  • Deployment and Installation:
    • Install, configure, and calibrate robotic systems at client sites.
    • Set up associated infrastructure, such as docking stations, network connections, and charging systems.
  • System Testing and Validation:
    • Performfieldtesting to validate the performance, connectivity, and functionality of robotic systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software issues encountered during operations.
    • Conduct pre-deployment evaluations, including network and cellular signal strength tests.
  • Operational Support:
    • Monitor robotic systems duringfieldoperations, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards.
    • Train on-site personnel in basic robot operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
    • Collect and analyze operational data to recommend system improvements.
To be successful in this role as a Field Operations Engineer, you will need the following requirements::
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with ME/EE skillset.
  • Willing and ableto travel up to 50% of the time, including some evenings and weekends
  • 2+ years of experience in a Field Service or Testing Engineer role preferred
  • Experience with Python, Bash, or C++ is a plus
  • Experiencewith linux is a plus
  • Troubleshooting skills in windows and linux networking is a plus
  • Soldering andelectronics troubleshooting is a plus
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Must have strong attentionto detail
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication
  • Hands on mechanicalexperience a plus
