Encova Insurance has an immediate opening for a Tax Manager to work a hybrid schedule from our Columbus, Ohio corporate location. We are open to hiring at a Director level depending on candidate qualifications. This role will report to the Assistant Vice President, Finance, Operations, and Tax. Are you a Referral? The primary objective of the Finance department is to provide timely and accurate financial information to leadership, business partners, and regulators. The Tax Manager will manage tax and accounting functions, including personnel and resources. This position will oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns, assessments and financial information. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparation of higher complexity tasks and reports, including development and monitoring of controls. The selected candidate will also assist in review of higher complexity tasks and reports completed by their team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A four-year college degree with a major in accounting or finance is preferred. At least eight years of satisfactory experience in tax, compliance, accounting, finance, or audit, with at least four years of experience in the Insurance and/or Financial Services industry highly preferred. CPA is preferred, though not required. This position also requires a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Statutory Accounting Principles and familiarity with various software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Sound project management skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and a profit-minded perspective are essential.
