Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Management Analyst to support the Regional Sustainment Framework (RSF) organization within the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support (DASD(PS)) office. As a Management Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping the implementation of the Regional Sustainment Framework across DoD. You will work closely with senior management, subject-matter experts, and policy teams to develop products that effectively capture the strategy and objectives to internal and external stakeholders. The work will be performed primarily at the client site in the Pentagon (Arlington, VA).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include the following activities:

    Collaborate with senior leaders and subject-matter experts to understand key policy priorities, narratives, and objectives
  • Conduct assessments to identify allied and partner nation workforce challenges and opportunities. This includes identifying U.S. Defense Industrial Base overseas workforce locations, capacity, and supportability
  • Conduct analysis to identify and address U.S. and allies and partner statutory, regulatory, international agreements, and policies that present barriers and restrictions to expansion of Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities to support RSF priorities. Propose amendments to those barriers and restrictions to mitigate RSF implementation
  • Assess, compile, and analyze existing agreements with allies and partners to include Mutual Logistics Support Agreements, Acquisition Cross-Servicing Agreements, and International Support. Identify gaps in oversea MRO capabilities for US forces.
  • Support the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024 Section 842 (Demonstration and prototyping program to advance international product support capabilities in a contested logistics environment). Participate in Section 842 planning and implementation activities and assist with the drafting of the report to Congress
  • Coordinate responses to queries and taskers with department counterparts and international partners
  • Assist senior leadership in the preparation of high-level briefings, meetings, and major international engagements
  • Monitor progress on organization's key efforts on a regular basis and incorporate these updates into policy products briefed to executive-level officials and international leaders
  • Research and gather relevant information, data, and insights to inform policy writing
  • Develop clear and concise talking points tailored to specific audiences and occasions
  • Collaborate with department stakeholders to coordinate the delivery of talking points and other policy deliverables
  • Take general guidance on intent, target audience, and venue to build draft products with significant technical content for briefings or papers that effectively deliver the desired message and remain consistent with the organization's objectives and priorities
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts on researching, writing, and editing strategy and policy papers


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • More than five years of relevant experience in national security or defense, preferably supporting OSD organizations in the Pentagon
  • Master's degree can be substituted for 2 years of experience
  • Prior policy and strategy writing experience is preferred
  • Excellent research skills
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experience with data analytics, and being able to develop dashboards to display relevant data
  • Experience working with senior leadership in the national security and defense sector
  • Strong, demonstrated problem solving experience, communication skills, and writing skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio
  • A current SECRET DoD clearance is required

Targeted Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
