JOB ANNOUNCEMENT MANAGER OF VEHICLE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT OF FLEET AND FACILITY MANAGEMENT Number of Positions: 3 Applications for this position will be accepted from 3/20/25 until 11:59pm CDT on 4/3/25 The City of Chicago is seeking Managers of Vehicle Maintenance to direct twenty-four hour operations for the repair and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment at an assigned Department of Fleet Management facility. These positions will be responsible for overseeing repair and maintenance work that is being coordinated by Foremen and trades personnel, prioritize work assignments, maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment, and mitigate issues as they arise and respond to changing operational needs. * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology, Automotive Management or a directly related field, plus three years of work experience in the repair and maintenance of automotive, trucking and heavy-duty off-road equipment, of which one year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience * A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required SELECTION REQUIREMENTS For Information on our employees benefits please visit our benefits website at: For Information on our salary and title structure visit our classifications website at: APPLICATION EVALUATION: Initial evaluation will be based on information provided on the application and the documents submitted.
