Firmware Engineer

Itron is seeking firmware engineer that will be responsible for the weekly planning and delivery of technical services. You will learn to adapt practices within company policies using acquired techniques to complete complex assignments and achieve goals.

In this role you can expect to collaboratively work on problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. You will exercise independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions that may significantly impact business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Will lead and/or coordinate some team efforts; builds productive internal/external working relationships.

  • Accomplishes operational and/or functional objectives that enable successful execution of department goals; achieves KPIs and action plans.

  • With general direction, completes engineering activities and tasks for a specific architecture or technology.

  • Assists in new product development including design, analysis, and testing.

  • Receives technical requirements and guidance from senior technical staff to successfully execute engineering work assignments.

  • Completes technical tasks and deliverables of moderate scope within set timeline.

  • Follows technical documentation and standardized processes and procedures.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 1-2 yrs experience analyzing, designing, programing, debugging and modifying software.

  • Experience troubleshooting code for firmware (IC embedded code) applications.

  • In this role you will work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems.

  • Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design.

  • Experience programming in machine language, assembly language and high-level languages (e.g., C, C++).

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
