Job Description

Danfoss Industrial Division is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and self-driven Account Manager to increase wallet share at existing accounts. This role will identify new opportunities and drive specifications for pull through sales and own the sales growth and relationship of assigned accounts. The Account Manager will maintain strong professional relationships with key decision makers.

The Account Manager will report directly to the Director, Industry Sales to Industrial Americas. This role will work remotely out of any of the following US cities: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Cincinnati, OH; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Little Rock, AR; Louisville, KY; Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA; Oklahoma City, OK.; St. Louis, MO. Support for work authorization cannot be provided for this role at any time.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.




  • Develop and execute strategies and focused plans to achieve sales, price, and margin targets. Focus on net new wins, opportunity funnel management, and maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Identify customer applications, products, programs, etc. that present a sales opportunity for from any Danfoss Business Unit, and develop proposals tailored to customer expectations to meet their needs.
  • Lead Industrial Business Unit initiatives at assigned accounts and in support of and collaboration with Distribution, OEM, and Virtual sales teams.
  • Ensure operational alignment with customers by conducting periodic business reviews, internally communicate customer forecasts, and manage them against goals and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure high levels of support and communication to customers.
  • Represent Voice of Customer to the organization. This includes effectively communicating on topics such as price proposals/changes, product changes, new product needs, performance metrics, scorecards and other relevant topics to ensure Danfoss understands customer expectations and business metrics.
  • Develop broad relationships at customers to cover key decision makers and critical departments that will support specification and purchase of our products.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct commercial, technical, marketing, and/or special presentations on Danfoss current/new products and/or programs and their applications for customers.
  • Prepare and submit routine call reports, monthly reports, action plan updates, expense reports, and other sales-oriented documents in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain records in an organized and accurate manner for performance analysis and follow up.

  • Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering or another engineering field is required
  • Minimum 3 years customer facing account management and sales development experience with industrial or mechanical products
  • Minimum 3 years hydraulics customer and market experience
  • Minimum 3 years industrial customer and market experience
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and productivity skills
  • Ability to travel up to 75% (domestic and international); Primarily US and Canada
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be authorized to work in United States without work authorization support
