$20.00 / $21.25 / hour SUMMARY: Reporting to the Transportation Manager with a dotted line to Account Manager, the Transportation Warehouse Worker II is responsible for receiving, palletizing, vaulting, storing, staging pulls, and distributing goods, materials, equipment, and products within the Company's large-size customer on-site location to fulfill work orders. They are accountable for organizing incoming stock, labeling outgoing parcels, and loading orders onto trucks and shipping containers. This position will also have the responsibility to assist Project Manager with move duties and assist with fostering a positive work environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Main Duties: * Must be able to fully complete work orders as assigned, inbounds, outbounds, accesses and cross-docks. * Loads and unloads trucks with loose, boxed, or palletized goods. * Inspects goods for damage and verifies complete orders. * Palletizes and/or un-palletizes goods. * Pads, stretch-wraps and protects goods prior to placement in storage to prevent damage. * Places and pulls goods throughout the warehouse via the use of a pallet jack, forklift, order picker or moving equipment. * Sets, offsets, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and moves furniture, equipment and boxes as required. * Properly loads and unloads trucks from loading dock, using ramps or on lift-gates to protect goods being moved. * Completes all paperwork accurately and neatly and turns into operations daily. Project Manager Assisting Duties: * Assisting PM's and Lead Technician's with various duties on daily moves and/or project move activity, such as, loading and unloading equipment and supplies, staging of equipment and/or retrieval of equipment at project location. * Sets, offsets, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and moves furniture, equipment and boxes as required. * Properly loads and unloads trucks from loading dock, using ramps or on lift-gates to protect goods being moved and may supervise others doing the same. * Handles and stages product, performs detail work and trash-out functions on projects. Customer Relations: * Must follow all confidentiality rules regarding customer information. * Uses a high level of professionalism in verbal and e-mail communication, always seeking to be helpful, to focus on problem solving and arriving at a win-win interaction. * If needed, escalate customer complaints in a timely manner, including any pertinent matters to their manager. * Promote Company's Mission and Vision Statements. * Must be courteous, helpful, and professional to all existing and potential customers, by interacting with customers in person and via telephone, fax, and email to ensure complete customer satisfaction in all matters related to the operation. * Maintain excellent customer service with the customers, vendors, sales, transportation, and operation teams to establish solid relationships. Training: * Participates in ongoing training and may assist with training of new employees through cross-functional collaboration between locations. Safety: * Ensure the highest standards of safety, productivity and customer service are exceedingly daily. * Complete required Company and customer safety training. Other Duties: * Other duties to meet business needs and requirements as assigned. * Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal or external effect. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Required: * High School Diploma or GED. * Minimum 1 - 2 years' experience in working in a warehouse or operating a forklift. * Ability to use a Handheld Scanner. * Forklift certification required within six months of hire. * Valid California driver's license and driving record that meets the company's insurance carrier requirements. Preferred: * Proficient in MS Office applications. * Bi-lingual in Spanish. * Service industry experience highly desirable. * Experience with process improvement teams. PRIMARY LOCATION: San Jose PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Temp/Weather: Works in either 1) Office environment - for the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment, or 2) Warehouse - may be exposed to cold temperature, or 3) Outside - may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and extreme cold. 2. Noise: Works in office, warehouse or outside environment, with constant or intermittent noise. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 1. Variable hours, non-exempt, regular position. 2. Employees may be required to work late evenings or weekends depending on the business needs. 3. Must be able to work 7 days a week including holidays if needed. 4. All Overtime must be approved by manager before working. TRAVEL: Travel to various job sites and customer locations. Must be able to commute daily to the customer site.
