The Washington Engineering Office (WEO) provides on-site support to NAVSEA command at the Washington Navy Yard, including PEO SSN, PEO SSBN, and PEO UWS. The selected candidate will primarily support PEO SSBN (PMS 396) for OHIO Class ships (SSBN/SSGN) as an OHIO Class Planning Yard liaison, as well as assist with preparation for COLUMBIA Class support. The Engineer will liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers and task managers, to support the day-to-day execution of submarine modernization alteration installations. Responsibilities include:
Establish and maintain internal and external professional relationships across several cross-functional teams
The Engineer will be expected to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) for access into NAVSEA controlled spaces and systems and a PKI certificate for sending/receiving correspondence via CITIS. This is a hybrid work environment, with up to 40% being remote. Relocation to the greater Washington, D.C. area (DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia) is required. This role requires an understanding of submarine hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E) systems as well as non-propulsion electrical systems (NPES). Qualifications Required:
