Emergency Response: Yes - Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary
  • Manages the selection and consults on the implementation of new cybersecurity technology strategies and supports existing security infrastructure requiring a high degree of complexity and in-depth skill within the ITS organization. The Specialist Consultant has specific industry expertise and functions as an internal and external IT security expert consultant in the majority of the following specific areas or expertise: Accesscontrol systems, PKI, Kerberos, Integrity control, hash, digital signatures, Cryptography, DES, AES, Internet Security Infrastructure, DMZ, Firewalls, VPN, application and Operating systems security, Unix, Mainframe, Linux, ,Application Security, Networks Telecommunications, and TCP/IP, UDP, and protocols related to OT networks (e.g., DNP3, Modbus, KNX).
Key Accountabilities
  • Consults on application projects and monitors toensure the application is utilizing appropriate security techniques and ensures the application will integrate into the current and future security infrastructure. Takes corrective actions to resolve issues and provides solutions.

  • Keeps abreast of technology trends and DTE Energy's stated direction, selects cybersecurity technology platforms that are appropriate and cost beneficial, establish relationships with key IT security organizations to keep informed of the latest technology trends and establish communication withcybersecurity advisory organizations.

  • Maintains an in-depth expertise of cybersecurity-related opportunities, concerns and remedies within the computer industry. This position is the company recognized expert on IT related information protection and cybersecurity issues.

  • Researches, cost justifies, negotiates, makes recommendations and consults on cybersecurity infrastructure opportunities and works in conjunction with other areas of ITS to deliver state of the art solutions.

  • Information Protection & Security is expected to consult on issues/problems and assists in response to cybersecurity issues within DTE Energy's IT and OT networks. The IT specialist provides expert advice and make recommendations on preventative, detective and corrective actions for these attacks.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field MIS, CIS and seven years prior experience in similar responsibilities, including four years of highly technical IT security experience.
  • Individuals without a formal degree will need ten years equivalent experience including six years of highly technical IT security experience.
Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • Certifications: SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and/or GIAC(Global Information Assurance Certification).

Other Requirements

  • Ability to influence and build relationships to foster a positive work environment and elicit support for acceptance of new technology within the organization.
  • Ability to provide work direction to other team members.
  • Communication skills, including ability to design and conduct presentations, written communications skills and experience in dealing with all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of computer forensics and related company, legal and regulatory policies.
  • Understanding of IT industry, e.g emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, network architectures, telecommunications, systems design, and systems integration and an advanced knowledge of security principals, policies, assessments, measures and issues, e.g, access control, encryption, internal firewalls, telecommunications. #LI-AH1
